Dr. Dinas Aleksonis received his medical degree from Kaunas University of Medicine, Lithuania. He then did research in Cardiology prior to his Internal Medicine residency at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit. Dr. Aleksonis subsequently worked as a Hospitalist for several years at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn. Starting in 2015, he did a Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship at Loyola Medical Center. During his fellowship, he worked extensively with patients with lung transplants, CF, ILD, cystic lung disease, and sarcoidosis. He also performed research in COPD rehabilitation, muscle fatigue, and ALS. He is proficient in the major pulmonary procedures such as bronchoscopy, EBUS, chest tubes, chest ultrasonagraphy. His special interests in pulmonology include interstitial lung disease and asthma.
